Robert Fox
VIP Illusionist of the 21st Century Modern magician and illusionist who has successfully performed all over the world – for example, in Vancouver, Stockholm, London, Kuala Lumpur (Indonesia), Boston (USA), Beijing and the Viennese Holiday Inn. Between 2008 and 2010, he had his own program, Street Magic (Magie v ulicích) on Czech Television. In 2005, he represented the Czech Republic abroad on the occasion of the celebrations of the first anniversary of the Czech Republic joining the European Union.
His clients include Mercedes, Lexus, BMW, Volksbank, HVB Bank, ČSOB, Siemens, Hotel Hilton, Mandarin Oriental Hotel, Ferrero, Wella, Prague Airport, ABB, AutoCont, Samsung, Coca-Cola, Toyota, Porsche, DHL, T-Mobile, Motorola, Hewlett-Packard, Canon, Pricewaterhousecoopers, Maserati and many other companies. Robert and his Agency present programs primarily for various social evenings and promotional or corporate events. Through his original illusions, he also helps to promote various products. “Customers will remember the product much better when they see it live, levitating in the air, rather than when it is handed to them by a hostess. I am not the cheapest, but on the other hand, illusions experienced by the guests remain in their memories for a long time. This is the reason clients come back and we do repeated performances, mainly for firms,” he describes his experience.
I saw you perform magic at one VIP event among the audience. Do you also perform on stage? The place where the client decides to organize his event is not important to me. Mostly these are hotels, restaurants, cafés, golf courses, etc. When there are many spectators, we usually direct the opening program on the dance floor or stage. Then there is disco, band, bash, and I continue with my illusions among the audience in their immediate vicinity, as in the Street Magic show.
What do you, as a present-day illusionist, enjoy the most? When I conduct experiments for psychologists, mathematicians, CEOs and HR managers. They are convinced that they will not be influenced under any circumstances. Yet it is with them that my illusions work the best. These are highly educated and well-traveled people, but their mathematical logic sometimes can not cope. However, all my experiments are mainly for entertainment purposes. I try to make the audience forget about everyday cares during my programs and thus to enjoy perfectly all the magical experiments they encounter. They therefore mainly become their integral part, which leaves them with a much greater emotive experience than if they had only observed. In one Luxembourg periodical, the introductory sentence about me was: “You must see it to believe it!”.
Do you also perform shows with ticket sales? Several times a year, I also do events for business centers or discos, but 90 % of my programs are closed corporate parties. The most common performance is a show for 100 to 200 people. However, I also have programs for smaller companies, or, on the contrary, large events for over 1 000 spectators.
Are you developing any innovations? Anyone who does an original entertainment show at 100 % must not stagnate, but must continue working primarily on himself. I believe that one learns throughout life. Therefore, I also often travel abroad where I take inspiration and in turn implement it into entertainment programs for my clients. My “home” enterprise is the top Prague restaurant, La Casa Argentina, where I am trying out my new experiments.
What innovations are you preparing? We are just finishing preparations for the big birthday concert of Ewa Farna. Ewa had a wish to have my magic at her concert, so I have prepared several acts for her for this occasion and I am very curious how the audience will react to them. Soon I will have several days of performances in Berlin which I am looking forward to very much. Currently, corporate events are starting again, so I am quite busy. I let further plans remain a secret so that they are an interesting surprise for the audience.
What would you wish for readers? Especially to accept the world gracefully, to fulfill their dreams, not to forget how to laugh, to know how to take as well as to give. In this way, we will make our shared world much more pleasant and happier. I look forward to meeting you, perhaps during one of my performances.
