Natali Ruden woman of fashion

For years, fashion designer Natali Ruden and her eponymous brand have ranked among the elite of Bohemian fashion design. At shows and also in her own boutique in Dlouhá Street in Prague 1, she presents original designs that excel in luxurious elegance and precise detail, at first glance rather resembling delicate works of art.

The designer’s love of art, especially 20th – century art, is noticeable not only in the rich inspirational background, but also in the creative concept of her fashions. Natali Ruden creates timeless designs which, however, retain a distinctive style. Along with the emphasis on an individual approach to clientele, it is no wonder that she can address even the most demanding customers. Moreover, the design mastery of Natali Ruden does not lie just in impressive detail, but she rigorously takes into account how comfortable and practical each relevant design will be for the wearer. And this is appreciated by every woman and every man for whom a fashion is an important element of life.

A passion for fashion runs through Natali Ruden’s veins, as she comes from a famous designer family. The family atmosphere and the collections of world famous designers already stole her heart in childhood and she was soon clear about her career direction. As it is in the case in families, everything repeats itself and her son, Philip, shares the same passion for the world of fashion.

Natali Ruden’s characteristics are also enormous creativity and the courage to experiment. Perhaps this is also why her brand does not offer only luxurious evening dresses and gowns, although they perhaps belong among the gems of her work. In the Spring Collection, she took note of the needs of her busy clients for whom she created business suits, coats and other sober clothing. This fashion direction is also Natali’s favourite, because she can fully apply her taste for precise refinement with regard to comfortable wear. According to Natali, a well-cut jacket is a symbol of the highest designer art.

In 2008, Natali Ruden opened her own boutique in 3 Dlouhá Street in the historical centre of Prague. We could say that, after a few interludes during the course of her professional career (collaboration with Helena Fejková’s Fashion Gallery, a boutique in Vinohrady Pavilion, a studio on National Avenue and the Old Town Square) she has finally settled down and raised to perfection the venue intended for the care of her clientele. Here, in the very pleasant and inspiring atmosphere, clients can either choose from a wide range of designs – from the most luxurious haute couture numbers, to clothing designed for everyday wear – or they can use the services of the NATALI RUDEN studio where the item will be altered or “tailor-made” according to the individual design of the famous fashion professional. Natali Ruden, of course, does not forget to pay attention to the wide range of details and fashion accessories – from gloves, belts, scarves to sunglasses etc. Luxury lingerie is also an innovation which will be added to the permanent selection of the Boutique.

One of the fundamental characteristics of the brand are professional presentations at the highest level. For more than 10 years she has been showing her designer collections bi-annually. Each collection has its main theme. Natali Ruden draws inspiration from her own life experiences and the atmosphere in society, this is therefore a kind of a creative reaction – a typical example being the Flower Power collection – full of positive energy during the period of global crisis. Alternatively, she creates the themes of her collections based on a professional fascination with materials, as was the case of the Japan collection. Natali Ruden always likes to surprise with something innovative in her shows. She carefully chooses the venue, as well as the excellent choreography. The show of the Inspired by Heaven collection of 2005 became a legend. In addition to new, futuristic models it was diversified by a public air display by the Gripen fighter, then a novelty of the Czech Air Force.

During the ball season, Natali Ruden has currently presented her fashions at several prestigious balls, showcasing the new Chateau de Lis collection, which is slightly inspired by Baroque France and the symbol of the Royal lily. The designs of this French collection are dominated by gold, with metallic and pastel shades. Ribbons, as effective details, evoke a flirtatious atmosphere.

The winds of change blow very rapidly and Natali will reveal her ideas at the end of April at another designer show in a venue which remains a secret. All the Natali Ruden events are linked to charities. She collaborates, for example, with the foundations and projects of Livia and Václav Klaus, Tereza Maxová, Vendula Svobodová and, in the near future, also of Zuzana Baudyšová.

Charity work is among the activities Natali Ruden enjoys very much and considers as natural. Empathy and an instinctive sense of the needs of others, after all, make Natali Ruden not only a pleasant and admirable woman, but simply a very successful designer. With her creative approach, she is able to give to the clothing intended for everyday wear, as well as to designs for special occasions, exactly what every woman needs to feel beautiful and exceptional.
