El Emir

Lebanese Restaurant

Rameh El Ayache

How long has your company been operating on the market?
We opened the first El Emir restaurant in 2007 in the OC Palladium shopping center and this year in September we opened an El Emir in Wenceslas Square. Nevertheless, El Emir is actually the successor of Byblos restaurant which I ran in Burzovní palác since 2002, so we can say that we have been on the market for almost 10 years.

What are the prospects for development for the nearest future?
The current economic situation in the world, and in particular in Europe, certainly causes the fear of decreased tourism and therefore of loss of guests to every entrepreneur in gastronomy, whose clients to a large extent are foreigners. Recently we recorded an increased interest of Czechs in gastronomy as such, and with this was connected the courage to try new, let’s say exotic, cuisines. We put together the prices, menu including the Lunch Menu to comply with this increased interest and, should the fears of losing foreign guests become reality, to gain as many local guests as possible.

What is the philosophy of your business?
In my opinion, we are the only original Lebanese restaurant in Prague. This fact already has made us endeavor to let our guests feel closer to Lebanon and to offer them the possibility of feeling that they are in Beirut, while in fact in the heart of Prague. Perhaps, with a Lebanese chef, original fresh produce and oriental interior, we are succeeding in this. Our philosophy is to try to make our guests return, as well as to bring their friends along. And this only a very satisfied client will do!

Your recipe for success?
If a man has a good idea, the courage and faith to realize it, diligence and patience, he should deservedly achieve success.
