How long has your company been operating on the Czech market?
I’ve been doing business on the Czech market for six years now. I see my current company as a logical reaction to the entrepreneurial environment in the area of obtaining contracts. The previous small firm did not have the adequate capacity for the execution of orders which had arisen from the market. The company is now able to execute construction activities independently through sub-contractors and it preferably executes its own general supply of constructions.

What are the prospects for the near future?
The near future is already the present for us. Besides the restructuring of the firm into individual divisions and the implementation of rationalization in the execution of activities, the company has established Marketing and Innovation departments. The result is a range of new activities, such as capital appreciation in the area of the reconstruction of historical objects and monuments, in which the resulting value is vastly greater than the investment put into the purchase and reconstruction. In compliance with internal studies of the market situation, I am also considering company operations in areas other than the primary construction field, which we have thus far been operating in. Although the competitive environment in the building industry has decreased the level of profit to a minimum, we are entering this environment with the competitive advantage of innovation. Present results confirm that I am right.

What is your business philosophy?
My philosophy in life is that nothing is impossible and everything happening in business has its own rules. My experience is that honesty pays. The satisfied customer advertises and provides references for me, which result in new business opportunities.

Your recipe for success?
Many of my competitors are talented and hardworking. Yes, I also think that this is very important but, without personal enthusiasm for the task at hand, results are imperfect. That is why I always see the results first and subordinate all my decisions to them.
